I don’t Eat that Much! Why Cant I Lose Weight?

Sound familiar? Is this something you struggle with yourself?

Have you been trying to lose weight but your efforts are stagnant?
If you can relate to this, then read on. 

There is good evidence that intermittent fasting is good for your health and can be as effective for weight loss as simply eating less.  Studies in humans, almost across the board, have shown that IF is safe and incredibly effective. Changing the timing of your meals plus a healthy diet will lead you to a healthy weight.

With Intermittent Fasting or IF you only eat at a certain time. For example, the method of fasting for two thirds of the day is very popular. In the last third, however, you eat normally. You can do this easily by skipping breakfast. You finish eating at 8 at night–then let’s say sleep from 10 to 6 in the morning–you will eat your first meal at noon, then finish your last meal again at 8 at night.

This is the most popular form of fasting, known as the 16/8 method. You’re fasting for 16 hours every day or most days, and during the other 8 hours you eat healthy and nutritious meals. Despite what you may think, it is actually fairly easy to do. Most people report feeling better and having more energy during their fasting period.

Hunger is usually not that big of an issue, although it can be a little more difficult in the beginning, while your body is getting used to not eating and adapting to using fat for energy, meanwhile giving your gut a rest.

You can drink water, coffee, tea and other non-caloric beverages. Food is not allowed, but you can add some cream or milk to your coffee and take your supplements as long as there are no calories or very little in them.

Tip: If you feel that 16 hours of fasting is too difficult, you can start by keeping at least 12 hours between your last meal of the day and the first meal of the next day. Then gradually increase your period of fasting by one hour a day until you reach the 16 hours.
